When it comes to women's shoes, comfort is now non-negotiable. But that doesn't mean they're opting for sneakers. Shoemakers are being asked to invent a new flat.

Two years ago, we wrote in these columns that the high heel was not dead, that more and more city dwellers were resisting, especially those who wore them on their bikes . We wanted to believe in this return of the stiletto. Pierre Hardy , too. The Frenchman, founder of his own label and director of the Hermès shoe collections, despaired at the time that "no woman wants to wear pumps higher than 5 centimeters. It's a shame, because it's more fun to imagine high heels than flat shoes, it forces you to push the limits of the silhouette, to question the look, the neckline, femininity. But I'm convinced it will come back."
